    We’re also excited to have our brand-new sign up at the Hub, which looks fantastic. A huge thank you to the Rotary for their generous donation – it’s helped us bring in amazing sensory equipment, including a beautiful bubble wall that everyone is loving.

    We were also delighted to welcome members of the Rotary down to see the new sign in place and the impact of their support first hand. It was lovely to share the space with them and show how much their contribution means to everyone here.

    KS4 worked collaboratively to run a student café during golden time. This included market research, food shopping, preparing and serving food. 

    Implementing a café run by secondary students within a school environment is more than just a culinary project; it is a great opportunity for vocational training, business management, and social enterprise.

  • Art this week

    GCSE students have been studying artists linked to the examination topics - the art exam that will take place in April.  

    Key stage three students visited  The Burton Art Gallery to study 'Bideford Black' and have been using natural earth pigments to create their own pieces of 'Land inspired Art'  

    The new project for Key Stage 3 is linked to multimedia and the students have been studying collage artist to design their own collages.  They will continue to develop this project using spray paints and fabric.

    10th February was Safer Internet Day, with this year's focus on Smart tech, safe choices – Exploring the safe and responsible use of AI.

    AI technology is increasingly part of all our lives, so this Safer Internet Day we ran workshops to start the conversation about how to use it safely and responsibly.

    We have had some competitions in maths which has led to exploring ratio. This has included balancing a loo roll on our heads, memory tests and bean bag challenges.  Some students have looked at different potions to learn about the concept of proportion.
