The 'Thrive' approach
What is Thrive?
"Our mission is to help children and young people become more emotionally resilient and better placed to engage with life and learning.
We do this through our whole-school approach to wellbeing - proven to improve attendance, behaviour and attainment".
Embracing Thrive
Action plans
Every student has a tailored action-plan, drawn from thousands of strategies and practical activities that support healthy social and emotional development. The action plans are created individually when they start at our school, which highlight pupil profiles and allow staff to identify areas to focus on when completing action plans.
Students focus on their action plan targets each week during tutor time.
To further support our students; Thrive professionals reassess individual student baselines each term in order to highlight progress.
Evidence of Thrive at Marland School
As well as offering Thrive, we also run Thrive intervention sessions 1:1 and in small groups linked to supporting the students mental health and refining their social / communication skills. These include art and play therapy, cooking and offsite visits.
