  • Burton Art Gallery Annual School Exhibition

    Well done to all our students who got involved in our art piece for the Burton Art Gallery. Everyone's collaborative work helped us achieve the award this year which we are so proud of.

    Huge thanks to Rebecca Klingenstein for coordinating and helping this happen.

  • Student Creativity

    During the spring term our KS3 students have been getting creative in ICT and have designed their own websites using Canva. The students have worked extremely hard using their imagination and interests to produce digital content for their chosen project. They have also interacted with AI software to support with their ICT work. Well done all who took part!

  • Snow Day at Marland

    Staff and students were greeted with a snow covered school today. The cold chill changed the appearance of the school until a winter wonderland. Students wrapped up warm and were welcomed with hot chocolates and toast whilst they played in the snow. A lovely start to our day!

  • Santa Visits ETW School + Christmas Party

    Students at the ETW site had a special visit from Santa, followed by Fish & Chips from Miles.

    Students spent the afternoon together eating, listening to music, playing games and getting into the festive spirit. This was followed by Santa dropping in with small gifts for each child, consisting of things to keep them going over the holidays; Toiletries, sweets, hot chocolates, christmas games etc.

  • Visiting the RAMM in Exeter

    Some of our students visited the RAMM in Exeter this week. This was an eye-opening experience for some of our students who've never visited the city. Our students explored Exeter throughout the ages and saw the changes that occurred throughout the world.

  • Marland Captures Memories Through A Lens

    This term, our students have been exploring photography as part of their ICT module. We have explored the local area and captured photos to support their photography portfolio. All student groups took part and captured some amazing images of the scenery around them.

  • Marland Students Go To Jail

    Our students visited Bodmin Jail and explored the historical building. They learned about the site, crimes and dark history surrounding Bodmin Jail. Marland students were given the opportunity to visit prison cells, learn about famous prisoners and the historical timeline of the place. The educational visit gave students an insight into the punishments and prison life within Bodmin.

     

     

  • Things get spooky at Marland!

    Marland Secondary Bideford dressed up for Halloween on Tuesday - A spooky start to the term!

    It was lovely to see so many staff and students take part and engage in Halloween activities throughout the day.

  • Students visit Woody Bay steam train

    Sam had the privilege of taking two of our students to the Woody Bay Railway station. Being one of the only steam railways in the UK where passengers travel in Victorian railway carriages designed in the 1890s - our students were thrilled to take a step back in time and see a working steam train in action.

  • School Octopus Project

    This term our students have worked together collaboratively to create an octopus for our sea life display in the main corridor. Our students have worked hard and taken great pride in creating the octopus during their Art lessons. We hope to see more additions in the new future!
